We began in the betting business in 1980 with one shop in Widnes and now we are in the top six independent Bookmakers in the UK, with 36 quality betting licences and continued investment in our premises.
We have created well over 150 permanent jobs in the process, and we were the first bookmaker in the country to achieve the prestigious Investors In People standard in 1994.

Dave Pluck
Owner
Dave completed an economics degree at Liverpool University and then worked for his father until setting up his own business with one shop in Widnes, Cheshire. He has now been in the business for 30 years.
Dave has a life long interest in motor cycles, is a member of MENSA and has a daughter, Anna, who is a sports therapist.
Nick Thompson
Managing Director
Nick started in the betting industry as a Saturday cashier for Stanley’s whilst at university in 1995, staying on at Stanley’s to become a successful shop manager.
He has a keen interest in football, and ran football-training courses for Stanley’s before joining Dave Pluck’s in January 2002 as part of the line management structure.
Originating from Manchester, Nick is a Manchester United fan, and now lives in Lancashire and has 2 children.
Nick became a director in 2010 and succeeded Frank Seymour as our new MD in 2015.
In summer 2018 he married his partner Vickie in Italy, and loves to travel.
Kelsey Rogers
Supervisor
Kelsey joined us as a Deputy Manager in 2017, after spending 10 years at Wilko Stores.
During his time with us, he has progressed to Manager, Senior Manager, and now Area Supervisor.
He is a keen sports fan, and spent many a weekend off following Bury FC around the country, as well as waiting for the Minnesota Vikings to win their first Superbowl.
In has spare time, he is a keen pub quizzer, and has accumulated a vast amount of completely useless knowledge as a result!
Will Brown
Senior Group Manager
Will, after finishing his degree in Biomedical Sciences and spending a few months traveling joined one of our competitors in 2011 as a deputy manager and worked his way up to be a shop manager.
In 2014 he joined David Plucks as a shop manager before going on to be part of the trading team, and then a Senior Group Manager.
Married with two children (he’s decided that’s more than enough!), he likes to spend his spare time cycling when he’s not with his family.
Stephanie Roberts
Office Manager
Steph joined us in 2003 in the office, and became office manager in 2008.
She has 2 daughters called Imogen & Layla and in her spare time she takes part in running events for various charities.
Steph has completed nine marathons and innumerable shorter distance runs, raising money for various local charities.
